SUICIDE SILENCE: 'The Cleansing' To Receive European Release In February

December 13, 2007

Riverside, California-based quintet SUICIDE SILENCE will release its debut album, "The Cleansing", in Europe on February 18 via Century Media Records. The CD, which came out in the U.S. in September, entered the The Billboard 200 chart at #94 (with first-week sales of 7,100),which marks the highest debut ever for a new Century Media artist.

SUICIDE SILENCE kicks off the holiday season headlining the Santa Slays tour, which also features THE FACELESS, LIGHT THIS CITY and OBLIGE. This week-long run of California dates launches on December 26 and culminates with a massive New Year's Eve show at Soma in San Diego.

Commented vocalist Mitch Lucker: "We're definitely stoked to be back home after three back-to-back tours had kept us out on the road for what seemed like forever. However, touring with bands such DESPISED ICON, WINDS OF PLAGUE, UNEARTH, DARKEST HOUR, A LIFE ONCE LOST, WALLS OF JERICHO, etc., provided us with some of the best experiences of our lives. We're extremely thankful for all of the great bands we've recently toured with and are pleased to announce that we'll be doing a week's worth of holiday headlining dates in California between Christmas and New Year's. This includes a long overdue appearance at the Showcase Theatre in Corona, which is the venue that really got things started for our band. We expect these shows to be some of craziest we've played in awhile so please come out and enjoy the holidays with us on the Santa Slays tour!"

SUICIDE SILENCE recently joined up with acclaimed director David Brodsky (GWAR, THE RED CHORD) to shoot a video for the track "Bludgeoned To Death".

HeavyMetalSource.com conducted an interview with SUICIDE SILENCE vocalist Mitch Lucker and guitarist Mark Heylmun on October 28, 2007 in New Haven, Connecticut. Watch the nine-minute clip below.
